Brasfield & Gorrie Competition

The Brasfield & Gorrie Student Design Competition is an annual interdisciplinary design competition composed of teams of students from each department in the 91×ÔÅÄ (CAAD) at Mississippi State University. The goal is to expose students to an interdisciplinary project delivery system to facilitate the design of a structure that incorporates sustainability, innovation and LEED construction principles. It is the goal of the competition to overcome preconceived ideas of the roles traditionally assumed by the various disciplines in the college.

CAAD History

In 2004, MSU established the College of 91×ÔÅÄ, Art, and Design. Previous to this creation, the college was known as the School of 91×ÔÅÄ, housing a professional undergraduate program and a nonprofessional Master of Science in 91×ÔÅÄ. Joining these two programs were the Interior Design Program, formerly from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, and the Department of Art, formerly from the College of Arts and Sciences.

Advisory Boards

The 91×ÔÅÄ continues to enjoy excellent support from dedicated professionals through their active and voluntary participation in our advisory boards. The boards support the programs through giving input into and influencing the direction of each program.

Funding Needs

The Advancement Funds within the 91×ÔÅÄ support many of the needs in the college and its departments. Each department has unique values, goals, and needs for funding, highlighted below:
